What We Believe About God

We believe in one and only one true and living God, who is perfect in wisdom sovereignty, holiness, justice, mercy and love. He is Creator, Ruler, Preserver, and Redeemer of the universe and He is worthy of all possible honour, love, reverence and obedience.

We believe in one and only one true and living God who exists eternal in Three co-equal persons. These persons are God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, and together they constitute the Godhead, or the Trinity.

We believe in God the Father. He is all-powerful, all-loving and all-wise. He rules over all life and history and He initiated salvation by sending His Son to His creation. We believe in God the Son. He is Jesus Christ, the Messiah. He is true God an true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Being fully God and fully man, He died upon the cross, the righteous for the unrighteous. His substitutionary death upon the cross, the shedding of His blood and His resurrection from the dead provide salvation for mankind. We believe in God the Holy Spirit. He is the one who convicts individuals of their sinfulness and of the righteousness of Christ, and He draws them to the Saviour and effects their regeneration. The individual is baptized with, and indwelt by, the Holy Spirit upon their acceptance of Christ as Saviour and He bestows spiritual gifts upon them for the rendering of effective service to God and the Church. The Holy Spirit is also able to fill, or sanctify, or empower individuals so that they might live holy lives, evangelize effectively and worship wholeheartedly.
